UFC legend Conor McGregor posts picture highlighting his body transformation over seven years as he

Former dual-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor has posted a picture showing just how much weight he’s gained in recent years.

‘Notorious’ initially made a name for himself in the featherweight division and by 2015 he was the undisputed 145lb champion by knocking out Chad Mendes and Jose Aldo.

After a couple of ill-advised fights at welterweight, McGregor settled at lightweight and become the 155lb champion in his divisional debut with a career-best performance against Eddie Alvarez in 2016.

Since then, the 34-year-old has struggled for form and has been plagued by injury issues in recent years. Right now, he’s sidelined and has been since fracturing his tibia and fibula at UFC 264 in July 2021.

However, McGregor is currently gearing up for a comeback in 2023 and has vowed to make history when he returns by winning the UFC welterweight title currently held by Leon Edwards.

The Irishman has combined his life of luxury with a rigorous workout routine that has seen him pack on a ton of muscle during his injury layoff and led to fans speculating if he’ll return above the 170lb welterweight limit.

After joking in recent weeks that he is 265lbs – the same weight UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou fights at – McGregor has seemingly confirmed that he still plans to compete at welterweight next year.

‘Mystic Mac’ uploaded a picture that showed his physique in 2015 at featherweight, in 2021 at lightweight, and a recent image captioned ‘170?’

While the man himself appears to be raring to go again, his comeback will be delayed by United States Anti-Doping who have not drug tested him at all in 2022.

UFC president Dana White recently revealed his biggest star will need to submit drug test samples for six months before he is allowed to compete again, meaning April 2023 is the earliest he can return.

However, it’s currently unclear if McGregor has re-enrolled in the USADA program and if he hasn’t, fans could be waiting even longer for his highly anticipated comeback.
