Kristen Stewart in Chanel couture at the 2014 Met Gala: great or too gimmicky?

I’m not sure that the House of Chanel really had the best night at last night’s Met Gala. Their standard-bearer was… Kristen Stewart. K-Stew wore Chanel Couture (as opposed to that dreadful Dallas collection which she now represents in an ad campaign). Thoughts? Let’s go head to toe. First, I don’t blame her for having bad hair. Her hair is dyed that stupid Manic Panic shade because she’s working on a film in NOLA. The hair couldn’t be helped, and she did the best (“the best”) she could with it.

As for the dress… there’s just too much going on. Too many tricks, too many gimmicks. I tried looking at the dress in just waist-up photos, and I actually kind of liked it. So, I basically want to rejigger this dress into something cleaner and less feathery. I also want to teach Kristen how to pose on a red carpet without making tight fists as a way to self-comfort. PS… I love the shoes.

Lily Allen wore Chanel Couture as well. God, this is so ugly and ancient. It makes Lily look like she’s 50 years old. The hair isn’t helping.

Anna Wintour wore Chanel as well. Wintour kept playing fast and loose with the theme, and many people believed the theme was strictly black-and-white. And then Anna showed up in this colorful frock. I don’t even like it.
