Exclusive Premiere: Cloe Wilder Presents Original Single "Overthinking"

Cloe Wilder, one of the newest artists emerging in 2019, matches Billie Eilish and Sasha Sloan’s rhythmic, dark tunes in her upcoming single. Cloe’s “Overthinking” comes from the past few months of releasing covers from relatable artists that fit her musical genre.

The 13-year-old singer-songwriter based in Florida encourages listeners of her upcoming music to accept one’s mental health issues, push for equality, and embrace imperfection. “Overthinking” chronicles those moments when overthinking every decision you make turns into not being able to enjoy the life you’re living. It’s the first song to showcase Cloe’s affluent songwriting skills and musical capabilities.

This March, she uploaded a music video covering Sasha Sloan’s “Faking It.” She commented on the choice of song, “Sasha Sloan has been a major artistic inspiration for me lately,” Cloe begins. “Her songwriting is so insanely captivating. I loved the way that she put the idea of a real and messed up relationship into this song, even though it’s hard to talk about.”

Among the short list of YouTube covers on her page, the Ariana Grande cover of “Breathin'” is the most-watched video with over 91K views. Inspired by artists like Halsey, Ariana Grande, Sasha Sloan, and Billie Eilish, Cloe is an artist that inevitably has a passion for music.

In an interview with Crooners In Coffeeshops, she discusses how she chooses the songs to cover and the inspiration behind them. “I usually choose songs based off of how I connect to the lyrics. I’ll take the elements of the song, and kind of twist them into how I’m feeling when I’m listening to it and how I sing it,” she begins. “With my cover of “Breathin’” by Ariana Grande, I completely chose it solely because I related to the lyrics, and I just knew that I wanted to make it sound like who I want to be as an artist.”
